PITAHAYA (YELLOW DRAGON FRUIT)

This fruit is indigenous genotype to the Morona Santiago province in the southern ecuadorian amazonic region, denominated variety "Palora" honoring its place of origin where the first plants were found, now a widespread crop, this is different in organoleptic characteristics to the rest of the Yellow Pitahaya varieties, due to a higher °Brix, Weight, and high nutrients content.

  • Other Names: Dragon fruit, Queen of the night
  • Description: It is ovoid in shape, initially green in color it turns yellow on the outside when mature, it has bracts in outer skin, strong and resistant, it has thorns on each tip of the bract, its pulp is white in color with black seeds
  • Taste: Sweet and very smooth, refreshing.  
  • Uses: C urrently the yellow dragon fruit is consumed as fresh fruit and can be found in processed products such as: dehydrated fruit, jams, wines, canned, pulps, juices, among others.

The Sweet Cucumber is an Exotic fruit that grows in the Subwarm valleys of Ecuador, it is a sweet juicy refreshing fruit, it skin is soft and thin, yellow with purple streak. It is recommended for a balanced and healthy diet.

TREE TOMATO

Also known as "Tamarillo". Its cultivated, in Subwarm, humid and dry  climates, having two varieties such as: the common elongated purple and orange, and the round known as “Tomate Mora”; this fruit has nutritionals properties such as vitamins and minerals essential for good functioning of the organism, consumed basically in juices.

  • Other Names: Guinea red sorrel, Jamaica rose, Rosella, in Cuba it is known as Agrio de Guinea or Hallelujah and Saril.
  • Description: This is a flower from a shrubby plant (Hibiscus Sabdariffa L.) It belongs to the Malvaceae family, purple or redwine in color, it has four or five sepals that meet at their ends, acquiring a conical shape, it has an analogous epicalyx, but with separate and smaller sepals.

  • Description: They are round shaped berries, they are covered with red or yellow trichomes, these come off as the fruit matures.
